"Writings for the Common Man"
Written by a romantic
Whose true place in history
May have been 100 years past
Or will be in a 1000 years hence.
Here are the words
To capture the moment and the spirit
Of what is in a man's heart
Always and forever.
In this 'cyber - techno' world
Where only a tear or a touch can truly relate
These words evolved from a [poet who lives
Life ... and will unto death.
“Writings for the Common Man” is a 450 page book written in poetic language and contains additional aligned observations made over the past eight years by a poet who has lived a rich and full life. A man who is contented can easily reflect back … and with the strength of this (coming-to-be) awareness, make common sense of his progress to improve upon himself. Most humans are naturally driven to move forward … making of life a ‘positive go.’ They do this no matter what its deterrents, most of which could easily hold a mortal tethered to life’s less wholesome distractions. All men seek ‘happiness.’ “Writings For The Common Man” is written to be their guide book.
“Soul Speak”
Everyday my soul speaks
Telling of its joy and sadness
In a search for what matters
By the pleasure it finds extracting simplicity
From what may be complex and or divine.
I have no control over what it
says
Rather I let it venture where it wants
Each day bringing a new adventure,
Thought, or journey, and as would an accomplished gardener
I allow nature take its course.
Joy in life is a given, a mortal only has to find it within himself. The potential for fulfillment lies within all men, a man just needs to understand the true consequence (s) of his surrounding environment. Life is not fair, never has been, and if history makes any sense, or teaches any lessons, never will be. This same man must make his own path, see light where there is darkness, and become what all men were meant to be: loyal and compassionate toward all things, including himself. “Writings For The Common Man” will lead him there; read once, read twice, read three times. This finding will bring him the contentment he seeks. The journey to peace is readily available. For all men, it began before it begins, it is ongoing, leaves an infinite trail, and has a finite end.
"I
Live In A World"
(Tantra)
I live in a world
Behind closed doors
Open to a select few,
The rest are a bore.
I live in a place
Uniquely mine
Home where I rule
My word is divine.
My kingdom is a book
I might let you read
Page by page, each word is written
Planting its individual seed.
When you’re done,
I’ll have touched your soul,
You'll be able to escape
Everyman’s mortal toll.
This is not a book of poetry … rather it is a unique spiritual guide, a ‘how to’ book on finding understanding in a world that has been technologically programmed to lead a man away from his naturally given, ingrained talent to do so. In the best of being creative, it is the work of an artist. Taken as a whole, it has but one statement to make. Read piece by piece, it covers the gamut of civilizations ongoing search for universal consolation with all things.
This is not a work written for any special academic or genre. It is written in simple language for all men, short and to the point, so that the reader, one simple poetic step at a time, will find the courage within himself, to acknowledge the extraordinary peace that lies naturally within his mortal heart and soul.
