Ruth Mueller Taylor

A highly rated American Impressionist, Ruth paints a variety of subjects, concentrating primarily on landscapes about water. Like the mystery of an undertow, Ruth Mueller Taylor's watery landscapes are capable of luring you into their midst. The viewer is coaxed to come nearer, smell the salt in the ocean air, or feel the dank coolness of a river's morning. Her combination of color and subject matter create a tranquil mood which seems to have a calming effect on the viewer. Ruth's medium of choice is oil which she applies thinly or with impasto brush strokes to achieve her desired effect in painting.

Her interest in art began at an early age, but was not pursued until her two children were grown. She continues to take lessons, attend seminars conducted by nationally recognized painters and spends hours of self-study to polish and broaden her own style of pianting.

Her favorite painters are American Impressionists William Merrit Chase, Childe Hassam, Frank Benson and Edward Pothast plus Amerucan landscape painter Thomas Moran and the French impressionists, especially Claude Monet, You will feel their presence in Ruth's sensitive work.
