Suzanne Mays-Wentzell

Suzanne is a rural landscape artist that draws most of her inspiration from surroundings where she lives and paints. She now lives in Saugatuck Township, Michigan.

Suzanne has been drawing since the age of 4 or 5 and producing art in one form or another for the better part of her life. Her style and inspiration can be traced back to her childhood days of growing up in the farm lands of Ohio and Indiana. She still travels the back ro ads of the Midwest and the shoreline of Lake Michigan where she now lives, searching for inspiration.

Her favorite subject is still nostalgic rural America. She uses her medium to try and capture the feelings of the moment. She has attended numerous worksh ops with nationally known artists and studied art several years in Indianapolis, Indiana. She is consistent participant and award winner of numerous prestigious awards in regional, national and international juried exhibitions. She has earned signature me mbership in the Watercolor Society of Indiana and her work can be seen in numerous groups or solo exhibitions and gallery shows throughout the United States.

Her paintings are in many private and corporate collections here in the states and several foreig n countries. Several of her works have been made into Limited Edition Lithograph prints. She has been teaching watercolor classes and workshops since the 1980s. Summers are spent traveling and exhibiting in numerous juried fine art shows in the Midwest. W inters are spent doing gallery shows, filling commission orders and conducting classes as time permits.
